Our Safety Protocols

Learn more about how we minimize the spread of infection and the risk of COVID-19 transmission.

At Advanced Audiology Care, Dr. Fan strictly follows CDC guidelines. Some of the changes will be noticeable and most will be behind the scenes that you will not see.

Our practice is committed to giving you the most pleasant and comfortable experience during your visit without any compromises to your health, safety, or harm to the environment.

Protocols for Patients

  • All patients are required to wear a mask covering their nose and mouth when coming to the office.
  • Pre-Visit: Our office may communicate with you beforehand to ask some screening questions, such as:
    • Have you had any of the following symptoms:
      • Cough
      • Fever or chills
      • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
      • Muscle or body aches
      • Sore throat
      • New loss of taste or smell
      • Diarrhea
      • Headache
      • New fatigue
      • Nausea or vomiting
      • Congestion or a runny nose
    • Have you been around anyone that has had symptoms of COVID-19 or has been diagnosed with COVID-19?
    • Have you recently traveled outside of the US or NJ?
  • Upon Arrival: You’ll be asked those same questions again when you arrive at the office.
  • Social Distancing: Appointments will be managed to allow for social distancing between patients.
  • Checking-In: Upon arrival at our office, we may ask that you call us before entering the office to let us know you have arrived.

Protocols for Staff and Office

  • Staff: All staff will be wearing the most effective personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Surface Cleaning: All operatories and waiting areas will be wiped down with disinfectants between patients. For the time being, you may see that our reception area will no longer offer magazines, children’s toys, and so forth, to further limit surfaces where aerosols may land.

Protocols for Staff for In-Home Visits

  • Staff: All staff will be wearing the most effective personal protective equipment (PPE).

Protocols for Patient for In-Home Visits

  • All patients are required to wear a mask covering their nose and mouth for an in-home visit. Small children and those unable to wear one for health reasons don't need a face covering, but we ask that those individuals practice proper social distancing while Dr. Fan is in your home.

How We Keep Things Safe During Your Appointment

  • Fan will prepare a workspace that gives him enough room to work in and that provides a safe amount of distance from your family.
  • Fan will clean and disinfect all surfaces he'll be touching.
  • If you need to pay by credit card, he'll clean your card before and after he swipes it. No signature will be required.
