At Advanced Audiology Care, Dr. Fan provides hearing aid services to take care of all of your hearing aid needs. His services include Hearing Aid Fittings, Hearing Aid Support and Adjustments, Hearing Aid Cleanings, Hearing Aid Repairs, Hearing Aid Warranties, and Hearing Aid Batteries.
Once the order for your selected hearing aid has been filled and has arrived in the office, Dr. Fan will contact you to schedule a fitting.
During your visit, Dr. Fan will digitally program and customize your hearing aids to match your prescription to meet your hearing needs. For this visit, it is a good idea to bring a family member or close friend to help you remember all the information given and act as a support system for you.
Dr. Fan’s goal is to configure the best possible listening experience for you with your new hearing aids. If you feel certain aspects should be adjusted right away, the device settings can be digitally adjusted during this first fitting to ensure that the hearing aids are giving you enough sound where you need it. Ultimately, the goal of the hearing aid is to make everyday sounds audible and comfortable, but the sound you hear should be clear and pleasant.
During your first fitting, you will also be given details on:
- how to use your hearing aids
- how to put them on and remove them safely
- how to change the hearing aid batteries
- how to clean and care for your hearing aids
Keep in mind that it may take some time to get used to the sounds you were missing. Dr. Fan will work closely with you to help you get the most out of your new hearing aids. Studies have shown that a positive attitude is the most important factor for success with hearing aids. You will have a better listening experience more quickly with a positive outlook.
Your hearing aid fitting is a starting point. After you have used the device for some time and in different environments, you will have a better feel for any additional adjustments needed. You can schedule follow-up appointments with Advanced Audiology Care at any time in the future for these adjustments.
Over time, earwax and other debris may build up in the ear and impact hearing aid function and efficiency. Your hearing device(s) should, therefore, be cleaned regularly. If you cannot clean your hearing aids yourself, please call (848) 231-6637 to request an appointment to have your hearing aids cleaned professionally.

Hearing aids have small working parts that may need repair from time to time. The average lifespan of hearing aids is 4-5 years. To ensure your hearing aids are working correctly and efficiently, you should get them serviced every few years. At Advanced Audiology Care, we can service and repair hearing aids made by most manufacturers, including Oticon, Phonak, Signia, Widex, Unitron, and more. Our services cover both basic repairs and cleaning.
If the damage to a device is more complex and we cannot fix your hearing aids in-house, we will send them out to the hearing aid manufacturer. Complex repairs can cover damage due to water exposure, high humidity levels, prolonged exposure to extreme temperatures, or physical damage resulting from the device being dropped or stepped on.
Even if you are a patient who did not have your first fitting with us at Advanced Audiology Care, we can try to repair your hearing aids. We can service most major manufacturers of hearing aids, and we will tell you in the office if yours is a brand we service.
All new hearing aids come with warranty coverage for repairs. The actual time period for warranty coverage is usually 2-3 years, but it depends on the manufacturer.
Older hearing aids that are out-of-warranty can generally be repaired for a small fee. Depending on the hearing aid manufacturer, this repair may come with a new year-long warranty. Dr. Fan will provide you with more details once he has had a chance to look at your hearing aids. He will also let you know whether repairing them is worth your investment. Sometimes, certain brands purchased online or from discount stores (like Costco, etc.) may not be worth the cost of repairs after a certain length of time.
If you have any questions about the warranty for your hearing aids, please don't hesitate to contact him.
Hearing aid batteries are generally included (a 6 month supply) with all hearing aid purchases.
